'Crème Solaire' 2004 is flat, only about 8-8.75 inches above the ground
x 24" wide. Leaf Size: 8" long x 5.25" wide. 11 pairs of veins. Leaf Color:
Greenish yellow. Leaf Shape: Broadly Ovate with heart shaped base. Leaf
margin slightly rippled. Top dull, bottom glaucous. Blooms pale lavender
mid June...Flower size: 2".
Flower scape: 18" high. Leaf color in Spring is similar to a pistachio
tone with some bluish hue, which it loses as the season progresses. Seed producing.
Mound-like growth rate slow.
'Green Mouse Ears' 2004 sport of H. Blue Mouse Ears. Plant: 9.0"
diameter, 5" high. Mound-like with moderate growth rate. Leaf: 2.5" long
x 2.0" wide. 8-9 pairs of veins. Medium green with flat margin. Dull on top,
glaucous bloom underneath, deeply cupped, nearly round with a cordate base.
Scape: 6-7.5" long. Flower: 0.5" long pale lavender, striped, bell shaped.
Blooms third week of June.
'Holy Grail' 2004 is a Hadspen Blue sport. Approximately 5 years
old in 2004..Plant Size: 22" wide, 9" high. Leaf Size: 5" long x 3.5" wide.
8-9 pairs of veins. Leaf Color: Medium blue-green streaked with yellowish
blue and gray. Leaf Shape: Broadly Ovate with flat base. Leaf margin flat.
Moderately flat leaf appearance. Top dull, bottom glaucous. Blooms pale
lavender mid July to mid-August...Flower size: 1 5/8". Flower
scape: 15-20" long. Growth Rate: Slow.
'Incoming' 2004 Related to H. Majordomo, also 8 years old
in 2004, but is somewhat larger,
Plant: large-sized, 43 in. (109cm) diameter, 16.5 in (42cm) high, mound-like,
with a fast growth rate.
Leaf:12.5 in(32cm) long, 6.5 in. (16.5 cm) wide;11 pairs of veins; dark
green with a slightly rippled margin; slightly shiny on top and slightly shiny
underneath; moderately wavy and corrugated, broadly ovate with a cordate
base.
Scape: 2.5 in (6.4cm) in length; green
Flower: 2.5 in (6.4 cm) long, fragrant, pale lavender, tubular; Hampstead
MD 7/22-7/28-8/7
Seed: sets seeds, viability unknown, pod is green
Clump History: orig. seedling, 8 years old, Hampstead MD
Notable Characteristics: high lustre with deep veined leaves. (Parentage
unknown; Could be open-pollinated with kikutii caput avis which is close
to plant)
'Irish Moss' 2004: Nice mounding hosta with unique suede-like leaf
texture and color tone. Plant size: height 13" x 33" wide. Lightly streaked
1.75" long pale lavender tubular shaped flowers. Leaf size: 5.5" long x
4.5" wide. 8 pairs of veins. Leaf Color: Dark Moss Green. Leaf Shape: Broadly
ovate with heart-shaped base and slightly rippled margin. Leaf Texture: Dull
top, shiny bottom with lightly twisted leaf appearance. Blooms 3rd week of
June. Produces seed pods. Approximately 7-8 years old in 2004. Special Characteristics:
Unique suede-like leaf texture and color tone.
'Majordomo' 2004 Approximately 8 years old in 2004, has extremely
heavy substance, very stiff in the petioles which are also purple dotted
ala Cinnamon Sticks.. Leaf color intense metallic blue. Plant height 16"
x 44 wide"...Leaf Size: 11.5" long x 5.25" wide. Veins: 8 pairs. Leaf shape:
Ovate with heart shape base, slightly rippled. Leaf texture dull. Leaf Appearance:
Medium wavy. Flower scapes 19", flower color near white. Blooms first week
in August. Special Characteristics: Fabulous steel blue glow in leaf. Unique
swan-shaped flower buds.
'Royal Mouse Ears' 2004 streaked
sport of H. Blue Mouse Ears. Plant: 9.0" diameter, 5" high. Mound-like
with moderate growth rate. Leaf: 2.5" long x 2.0" wide with flat margin..
8-9 pairs of veins. Medium blue-green, with cream colored streaks. Dull
on top, glaucous bloom underneath deeply cupped, nearly round with a cordate
base. Scape: 6-7.5" long. Flower: 0.5" long pale lavender, striped, bell
shaped. Blooms third week of June.

7 in. (17.8 cm) high; mound-like, slow growth rate.
Leaf: 2.5 in. (6.4 cm) long; 2.25 in. (5.7 cm) wide; 9 to 11 vein prs;
blue-green; .25 in. (.6 cm) wide, creamy white, flat margin; glaucous bloom
on top and underneath; nearly round; cordate base; lightly cupped.
Scape: 6 to 12 in. (15.2 to 30.5 cm) long; green.
Flower: 1.75 in. (4.4 cm) long; pale purple; tubular; Rochelle, IL; 7/3-7/10-7/18.
Seed: sets viable seed; green seed pod.
Clump History: original sport obtained from t.c.; 2 yrs old; Rochelle,
IL.
Notable Characteristics: stable, margined form of H. 'Royal Mouse Ears'.

cm) high; mound-like, slow growth rate.
Leaf: 2.25 in. (5.7 cm) long; 2 in. (5.1 cm) wide; 9 to 10 vein prs; creamy
white; .188 in. (.5 cm) wide, blue-green, flat margin; glaucous bloom on
top and underneath; nearly round; cordate base; lightly cupped.
Scape: 5 to 10 in. (12.7 to 25.4 cm) long; creamy yellow.
Flower: 1.75 in. (4.4 cm) long; pale purple; tubular; Rochelle, IL; 7/3-7/10-7/17.
Seed: seed set unknown.
Clump History: original sport obtained from t.c.; 2 yrs old; Rochelle,
IL.
Notable Characteristics: stable, white centered form of H. 'Royal Mouse
Ears'.

'Templar Gold' 2004 a huge striking yellow, which is very luminous
and a vigorous grower, upright habit. Plant height 10" x 29" wide. Leaf
Size: 12" long x 6.5". Leaf Appearance: Heavily ribbed, wavy edges. Leaf
Shape: Ovate with cordate base. 10 pairs of veins, margin slightly rippled.
Leaf Texture: Top and underside slightly shiny. Flower length: 1-1.5" ,
shape is tubular. Sets viable seeds, seedpods are yellow. Flower scapes are
yellow, 30-36" high, flower color pale lavender...Blooms July 15 to August
15.
'Toutatis' 2004: Beautiful flat yet mounding shaped yellow with
luminescent blue tones. Plant height 9" x 23" wide. Near white 1.75" bell-shaped
blooms last 2 weeks in June. Leaf size: 7" long x 9" wide. 12 pairs of veins.
Leaf color: Greenish Yellow with blue tone. Leaf shape: Broadly ovate with
heart shaped base. Lightly cupped with dull top and glaucous bloom underside.
Margins are slightly rippled. 15" long scape, light green seed pods. Sibling
sport of Crème Solaire. Approximately 8 years old in 2004. Special
Characteristics: Unique luminescent blue leaves with variance in tones.
'Blue Baron' 2005 is flat, 7-7.5 inches above the ground x 26"
wide. Leaf Size: 3" wide x 7.0" long. 7 pairs of veins. Leaf Color: Intensely
blue-green. Leaf Shape: Lance with rounded base. Leaf margin flat. Top dull,
bottom dull. Leaf Appearance: Deeply flat.
Blooms near white mid July...Flower size: 3/4". Flower shape:
Flower scape: 7-7.5" high. Leaf color intense, almost steel blue. Mound-like,
growth rate medium.
Produces seed, unsure if viable.
Flat, heavily stacked full appearance, with striking blue which remains
throughout the season.
'Planet X' 2005 Plant: 33" diameter, 12" high. Upright-mound-like
with moderate growth rate. Leaf: 5.75" wide x 7.0" long. 12 pairs of veins.
Medium green center with slightly rippled, hazy intensely blue 1-2" variable
margin. Dull on top, glaucous bloom underneath, deeply cupped, broadly ovate
with a heart shaped base. Scape: 15-16" long. Flower: 1.5" long near white,
faintlystriped, tubular shaped. Blooms third week of July. Unique green
center with intensely blue margin and thick substance. Cupped shaped leaves
with occasional puckering.
